Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation is a national organization dedicated to eliminate pediatric cancer and to provide hope and support to those who are touched by it. The organization’s three programs are:
Medical Research Grants | Awarded each year nationwide primarily to junior investigative researchers who make meaningful advancements and discoveries towards finding a cure and therapies for various types of pediatric cancer.
Information & Support Service Grants | Awarded each year across the nation to pediatric oncology facilities and organizations for programs or projects that directly impacts patients, their families and hospital facilities.
Small Miracle Program | Serving Illinois residents and/or children (ages 0-19) being treated in the pediatric oncology departments at one of the eight major Chicago area hospitals. A Small Miracle is something special, unique and brightens the life of a child going through cancer. The family support services of this program offers a child’s immediate family support for financial burden or circumstances of need.
